 Simply amazing!

When I was pregnant with my son I scoured the internet looking for an organic nursing pillow. I knew that he would be spending a large amount of his early life on a nursing pillow so it was important to me that it be free of potentially harmful substances.

To me, it isn't enough that a product be organic or "natural", it has to perform its purpose just as well as or better than a conventional product would. This is absolutely the case with the Blessed Nest pillow. It isn't just an organic alternative, for me it is the best out there! I had an opportunity to try out the Boppy and My Breast Friend nursing pillows in my birthing class and aside from the conventional synthetic materials used in both, I didn't find them to be comfortable.

I found everything I was looking for in the Blessed Nest Nesting Pillow! This nursing pillow has an amazingly soft organic cotton case, is filled with buckwheat, and includes an organic cotton cover that zips on and off for easy washing.

This pillow feels amazing in my lap! It has just the right weight and is the perfect height to bring baby right to the breast easing strain on my arms and back. I can see why this pillow has the word "nest" in its name, the buckwheat contours perfectly to baby's body and creates a very comfy spot for bonding.

The zippered case that comes with this pillow washes wonderfully and has a very soft feel. It has not held onto any stains and is nice and thick so that nothing gets onto the pillow below. I orderd a second case when I purchased my pillow so that I would never be without one.

My pillow still looks completely new, I've had it for 3 years and am now using it to nurse my second baby.

 Great pillow

Agree with all the positive reviews. I have this pillow, my breast friend, a boppy, and some other one. The nesting pillow is the best fuctionally. In terms of the quality of materials used by far the safest and healthiest for the baby. The quality of the sewing and general product is excellent. After learning more about toxic products I realized that the other pillows have components that are unhealthy for the baby such as outlawed fire retardents, polyurethane foam and polyester. So i went searching for an alternative. Was hesitant about spending so much but once I opened and inspected it I felt that it was completely worth what it costs. Other products I truly wondered for the materials and workmanship why does it cost so much, they must be making a killing.

None of the pillows are perfect but the nesting pillow comes the closest. In fact I have gotten rid of all the others. Some may have to get used to using it but for me it just was a natural fit and no more fidgeting to get my active and squirmy almost 3 month old comfy and eating away quickly. It does make some noise when it is moved around due to the hulls that fill it but it does not bother me or seem to bother the baby. I also like that based on some of the other reviews the pillow can be used in many other ways after it may not be needed for feeding. I am grateful to blessed nest for providing a heathly, useful and, in my mind, aesthetically pleasing product

 Essential!

I purchased this pillow a few years ago after trying the boppy with my first baby and having a difficult breastfeeding journey. It was wonderful then and now that I’ve just it from the beginning with my second, I’m even more grateful. This pillow made all the difference for me. I love that it’s moldable and you can really bring baby close while giving support. It helps me to feed baby at a slight incline for better digestion. It was so worth the price for me. I also use it when sleeping as a back support and I know I’ll use it for years to come.

The buckwheats maintain the position I put them in not to mention I never feel like I overheat with this pillow

Baby is not here yet but I've been using this pillow for a month to help me sleep. I use it between my legs when okay on my side. It really is supportive. The buckwheats maintain the position I put them in not to mention I never feel like I overheat with this pillow. Very excited to use as a nursing pillow when baby arrives. I imagine this guy will help hold him up to where I could be hands free at times if I needed to be. It is what I would consider a heavier pillow than most but that's how you get such great support so it's a small price to pay. Love that is it made from natural materials. No offgasing here. Another true selling point.

 Great Baby Gift

I purchased for a friend's baby shower. She loved it and uses it several times a day.

 Life changing nursing pillow

I am so happy I made this investment. I just had my 3rd baby and never really liked the shape of the boppy I was gifted when we had our 1st baby. I usually used random pillows around the house and just made do. My posture suffered and honestly, I spent a good deal of money on all the other baby products, why wouldn't I treat myself to something that would make my life easier since I tend to breast feed for over 1 year. We brought this pillow to the hospital and got compliments from every nurse that came in the room. They (and i) love the shape, the filling and the baby and my husband love it too. It makes snuggling with baby so much easier. It helps my toddler and big kid hold their new baby. I wanted to try the moon/banana shape and it's so versatile, it fits and kind of molds like a bean bag, wherever you need it. I am so glad I didnt cave and get something cheaper. This is the best baby item I've purchased for this pregnancy, no regrets.

 LIFE CHANGING

I am not one to leave reviews normally but this literally changed my life. My son was born at 32+5 and has reflux- he literally can't be flat from the time he starts eating until 30 minutes after he finishes or he will vomit milk and acid. Aside from it terrifying him when it happens (and sometimes comes out his nose), it ruins his temperament and he stops nursing and is unsettled for hours. Traditional nursing pillows always have him flat and because he is a preemie, he doesn't queue early...he goes from not interested to screaming in seconds so I don't have time to build a pillow nest. My solution therefore became to hold him at an angle which gave him a flat spot on his head, made him nurse 12+ times per day because he could only do it for 10 minutes a side, and absolutely destroyed my elbow and shoulder to where I was taking 2400mg of Advil per day. Luckily, I asked a friend what she thought and she suggested the Nesting Pillow.

It literally changed my life.

It was exactly what we needed. Because I can build up his head and bring him in closer, his latch is better, he nurses longer (and feeds less frequently), he is calmer, he falls asleep at the breast, he hasn't had a single spit up and my arms are not falling apart. Best purchase I have made in as long as I can remember.

 Best breastfeeding pillow ever!

(Wife’s review) I absolutely love this pillow. It gives my baby so much support! I don’t find myself slouching when feeding my baby because it holds the baby up so well! Definitely worth it!

The only nursing pillow you need

I NEVER write reviews. Honestly I think this is the first one I’ve ever written, if that says anything about how great this pillow is. I ended up having an emergency c-section with my first baby and was immediately worried about how that would affect breastfeeding. Thankfully thanks to this wonderfully designed pillow I have been able to get a great latch in a variety of different positions that do NOT hurt my incision at all (which certainly isn’t easy in the early days) and provides all the support the both of us need from day 1, plus it’s organic without gross chemicals. EASILY the best baby product I brought while pregnant. If you’re debating, just buy it. I know I’ll be using it for years and with all my future kiddos. Thank you so much Blessed Nest for this product!

Versatile Upgrade

For child two, I was looking around to see if there was anything new/better than the nursing pillows we had tried before (which all ended up ignored in the corner of the room). My wife was skeptical - it looks like a fancy burlap sack with buckwheat in it, which isn't really her style. We've been using it for a few months now, and it's become a fixture at the baby-feeding chair. Everyone in the house is using it in some way or another - myself, wife, mother-in-law. Our doula has been recommending it to all her clients. It's pretty great, and like our Snoogle body pillow, it'll probably keep being useful even after we're done using it for baby stuff. It's like a cross between one of those airplane neck pillows and a worn-out bean bag (in a good way).

 High quality comfortable pillow

I bought this to use as a nursing pillow but ended up using it as a body support pillow and a regular pillow to sleep with. Well actually, I don't like sleeping on it because it hurts my neck but my husband loves it to sleep on. We always fight over who gets to use it cause it's just that comfy.

I love that it has a zipper to the cover for the pillow so I have the option of adding herbs to it or refilling it with fresh buckwheat or maybe you could even do rice if you don't want to shell out the money for buckwheat.

The cover for it is very nice and soft and I really like how it's all organic and natural. Only downside to that is that means there's no plastic waterproof to keep your pillow from getting wet from drool or food or anything else.

Overall this is definitely worth the price it's very high quality and is organic and natural perfect for someone who wants to avoid chemicals and would like the option of filling their pillow cover or adding herbs to it.

I would whole heartedly recommend this product I'm very satisfied with it.

Best product for your money

I researched every nursing pillow I could find after not liking the boppy or ergo baby nursing pillows. Finally decided on this because of the organic materials and the fact that it won’t shrink after use because of the beads it’s made out of. After a week of constant use, this pillow far exceeds my high expectations. I love the weight of it and have no problem carrying it from room to room to use and love the feel of it on my legs while I’m using it-reminds me of a weighted blanket, which helps with restless leg syndrome, which i tend to get after nursing so much the first few weeks/months. Being able to prop baby up on it after eating is a big bonus as well. I chose the plain fabric so it doesn’t scream “nursing pillow” in my living room. I am very happy with this purchase-was a little disappointed in the high price and the high shipping cost and then it took over a week to reach me but honestly it’s worth it.

.This pillow is fabulous. It does take a bit of playing with at first to figure out how it can best support you during nursing (I'd recommend looking at the visual instruction sheet on the maker's website). It is extremely well-constructed, and the materials are of high quality. I am a plus-size mom, and while I own a boppy, the boppy never fit me around the waist and is not comfortable to use. This pillow is adjustable and is especially great for nursing in a football hold position (something I didn't find the boppy did well). I work from home, and I also find that it's a great pillow for supporting my laptop as well. I lent the pillow to a friend for her first baby, and it has held up well (no dust or other issues with the hulls degrading). I did replace the cover for my second baby, since my friend's cat apparently liked the pillow and pulled out a bunch of loops in the french terry cover. The cute bird/nest patch is in a slightly awkward position, but one only needs to flip the pillow to the other side to solve the problem.

 So versatile. Worth every penny!

I bought this about 6 months pregnant and I’m so glad I did! I was going to review it then but wanted to see how well it worked for nursing and let me tell you, it’s amazing! First it was great for sleeping with between my legs while pregnant and now nursing is so comfortable thanks to this pillow. My 3rd baby and I thought I loved the brest friend pillow last time but this is so much better. You can mold the back to support baby’s head, squish it around to fit any position, the cover is super soft, I just love it. We just started using for tummy time too, plus my older girls use it when holding the baby. So worth every penny, but I do wish it was more affordable so I could have an extra for the car. Washed the cover a few times and it’s just gotten softer. So glad someone created this!

Can’t live without our Nesting Pillow!!!Better than Boppy.

Add this to your baby registry... you won’t be disappointed!!! I’ve used this every day and night since it’s arrival. A far superior pillow than the popular Boppy in every way. It’s moldable, dense and supportive. I slept with this while pregnant and no other pregnancy pillow came close to comfort and support this provided me. And when my son arrived, this pillow was amazing. You can nurse in any position with it and mold it to suit you and baby’s needs. I gifted this to two other moms and they agree that this is the number one most used baby product they received. I also want to mention that it gets even more comfortable with all the use. Still supportive and cleans well even after 9 months of using it. I love it and so will you or the person you purchase it for!!

 Worth the money

I know it seems outrageous to spend this kind of money, but I’m telling you this is worth it! I am nursing my 4th child and can tell you this it! Boppy is the worst! Here is some of what I love most:

1 I am almost 6 feet tall. These tiny baby’s feel like they’re a mike away from my nipples. But this pillow allows for adjustment making it comfortable for the baby and I.

  1. though it’s heavy, it is very comfortable and sturdy.

 Indispensable with my newborn

I don't think I've ever written a positive review of any product, but I felt compelled (in my sleep-deprived state) to write this as a mom to a newborn. I was on the fence about getting this pillow because of the cost, and the reviews saying it was too heavy. Yes, it's heavier than a polyester foam pillow, but I was willing to overlook that since it'll be so close to my baby and I'm trying to avoid as much synthetic material near her as possible (impossible, I know). But the reason I'm leaving this review is not for its use as a nursing pillow (works great, no complaints), but because it's become indispensable in allowing me to sleep at night with her. I have a cluster-feeding newborn who cries when she's not near my breast; I never planned to co-sleep, but pure desperation has forced me to--following all the safety precautions!--with me lying on my side and breastfeeding her at night as needed. It's the only way I can get any sleep. This nesting pillow's heft has the surprise benefit of keep me propped up comfortably on my side, at a good angle, when I place it behind my back. It works unbelievably well for this purpose. Again, I wouldn't be able to sleep otherwise; I'd be constantly slumping away from her and trying to hold myself at a good angle otherwise. Every night I make a mental note to leave a positive review, because it's been a life-saver. Not sure if it was ever meant for this purpose, but either way, getting this pillow has been 100% worth it. (and yes, I like it as a nursing pillow, too!)

Perfect Pillow for Pregnancy and Beyond

Love Love Love. Cannot say enough good things about this pillow, I wish I had two. I have not yet used it for nursing, but this pillow is saving me during my pregnancy for sleep. Perfect size for snuggling up and supporting my stomach, but I also love facing the opposite way from the pillow and have it support my back. Ideally I'd have two, one for behind me and one for in front.

Not only is this a great body pillow, the smell is incredible and I love how natural it is. Other than using an organic boppy cover, I wasn't able to find another organic or natural nursing pillow.

Although it is a tad expensive, I see myself using it for many years, not just for nursing. Great body pillow during pregnancy, nursing pillow, pillow for kids to lounge on the floor with, etc. I think for the quality it is well worth the price! I recommend getting early during your pregnancy to get the most out of it.

 Great for Tall Mamas

Update! Baby came and I still love it! Greatest pillow, totally worth the money.

Listen I expecting my second baby in July so I haven’t really used it but I love it. I am a tall mama and I had a boppy with my daughter which was to short and I needed a pillow under my boppy to make it effective. This time around I decided to splurge for Mother’s Day and I am so happy I did. I love that you can mold this pillow make it bigger on one end than the other. I just know this is going to make a world of difference nursing number 2. Wish I had bought this sooner.

I will edit this review if I change my mind but currently I am in love!

 Worth the money

I really splurged on this pillow bc I’m an on demanding breastfeeding mom of a newborn and my 2 year old son was a bear to get in perfect nursing position I had 6 pillows trying to prop him perfect. This pillow is WORTH THE MONEY. It’s like heavy bean bag so you can stuff up one side and have the front body thinner and the pillow doesn’t sink in or sag. I literally was so comfortable at my

Shoulder nursing I fell asleep and the baby felt so sturdy and secure. It’s heavy keep it mind. I’m in love with this pillow I’m glad someone is trying to help breastfeeding moms by inventing this. Those boppys are so flawed and stupid.. If you are on the fence this IS so worth it .. THANK YOU

 Actually good nursing pillow!

This is an actually good nursing pillow! I was so skeptical because of experiences with the Boppy and the Brest Friend nursing pillows, but I needed something and I was drawn to this one because it uses natural materials, but even outside of the natural materials, it’s usefulness and versatility and comfort is really much more than I expected when I purchased it. I’m very happy and satisfied with my purchase, it’s definitely exceeded my expectations! My baby even sleeps better supported by this pillow over her baby lounger, so she sleeps with it and when she wakes up, I use it to support me during feedings. Super great, highly recommend!

 Premium Product

I bought this for my wife after she used one in our pediatrician’s office. No other pillow is even close to this quality and function. Nursing has its own challenges, so not having to fight flimsy, foam filled polyester sacks is a must. I only wish we had bought this pillow before our son was born. We would’ve taken it to the delivery room. On top of such an excellent product, the customer service from this company is unheard of. After I emailed a request to the email provided by Amazon, the owner of the company responded and personally handled my request. I can’t say enough good things about the product or the people behind it.

 Worth the price

This is an awesome nursing pillow. I wanted something organic because I like to do as much skin to skin as possible with my little man, particularly when nursing. This pillow is fairly heavy, but that is to be expected given the material inside - not so heavy that it prohibits you from using it. I just wouldn't be toting it around the house. It stays in the nursery in our lazy boy and I use it every time I nurse. I like knowing it is clean, organic and gentle against my little one's skin and it also is easy to mold into whatever you need for support. I highly recommend this nursing pillow to anyone wanting something natural and organic and highly functional. It is worth the price.

 I would buy this again

Love the Blessed Nest nursing pillow. While pregnant I slept with it behind my back so I wouldn’t roll onto my back. Now I have a 5 month old who is exclusively breastfed so I use the pillow a lot. I like that the shape of the pillow is adjustable because of the buckwheat filling. I have washed the cover immediately after diaper blowouts, liquid does soak through onto the pillow, and I’ve followed Blessed Nest’s cleaning instructions without any problems. Cover washes and dries well. Pillow gets blotted with a damp paper towel, then pillow goes into the dryer with a damp towel. Really happy with this nursing pillow.

I am an IBCLC and I use this pillow exclusively in my practice. In my opinion it is the best support for your arms while you are supporting your baby. I cannot tell you the amount of times I have a mother come in for a breastfeeding consult who has used other pillows and say something like "Now THIS is nice!" and want to know where to get them. They are worth every penny of the price. I read the one negative review and I can tell you that I have had one for 5 years and while it certainly is not as "fluffy" as it used to be, I have not seen any dust escaping from it and it still provides excellent support. It is a great product!

 This pillow is worth it!

This pillow is awesome! I love the fact that it is a natural alternative to all of the more popular commercial pillows out there. Besides using this as a feeding pillow, anyone who holds our baby loves to use it as support. It's also great for propping up the baby if we're resting in bed together. I would use this pillow myself as well...great for nestling in bed, as a back support....don't be put off by the price. Your baby is in close contact with this pillow for many hours during the day, and it's nice to know that he or she is not breathing in any toxic chemicals. The fact that you can shift the filling is an added bonus to get the support where you need it. Once you place the baby down it "locks" into place, so you have a solid yet comfortable surface.

 We LOVE this pillow

We LOVE this pillow! Me and my husband both happen to love buckwheat pillows so when we needed a nursing pillow this was the easy choice. I read several reviews for some of the other popular pillows mentioning the chemicals used for the filling. Buckwheat has to be safer than that :) Its a good size, firm, and holds its shape well. Its obviously not cheap but its hard to find companies willing to make safe quality products these days so I can live with the price. We certainly use it at every feeding- and even when he outgrows it I'm sure we will continue to find uses for it- even if I have to sew a different shaped pillow case for the buckwheat! Those are hard to find so just the filling is worth the money to me!

Better than the pillow everyone says you need!

This pillow is a game changer. Everyone told be I had to have the boppy and I hated it from day one. After 6 weeks of nursing my back was killing me. I went to visit a friend and used this pillow at her house and knew I had to have it. Absolutely the best purchase I made. Worth every penny and then some. I love how easy it is to manipulate so you can angle you babe. My little guy has reflux issues and having a pillow where he could be angled instead of laying flat made a huge difference.

Best baby item ever. We now have 2!

I now own two of these. After buying every nursing pillow out there (my breast friend, boppy etc.) with my first child I finally broke down for this one. It was somewhat expensive but I am so glad I bought it. It's amazing in that it contours your baby and you can fluff up the buckwheat where ever you need support. Every person that has come over and used it to nurse or bottle feed loves it. I now have twins and bought a second one. The cover washes well and has always come clean and so far two years in, the pillow is still great! There are a ton of baby items you don't need but this is one I would splurge for!

I really wanted to love this because it is made of buckwheat and nontoxic

I really wanted to love this because it is made of buckwheat and nontoxic, but it didn't work for me. I didn't like this because it is very HEAVY. As a first-time new mom trying to (a) heal my physical body from a difficult delivery and (2) learn how to breastfeed, trying to get my 8 pound baby into position and trying to pick up and manipulate this heavy pillow into shape was simply too difficult. My body felt like it had been run over by a truck after delivery, and putting this heavy pillow on my lap in addition to my little baby was simply too much. I ultimately found My Brest Friend to be my favorite. Two stars for Boppy. In the end, though, two visit with a lactation consultant helped me figure out that they best way to feed my little guy was without a breastfeeding pillow, in the laid back position or the side lying position. On the positive side, this pillow is very well constructed, made of high quality material and certainly seems like it will last for a long time.

Love this product. Not only is it natural so my baby isn't breathing in harmful VOCs but it's really great to use. You can "mold" it to support you or your baby where you want support. If you want more support in one side or the other, you can just shape it that way and it holds that shape pretty well. If it wasn't so expeny I would buy one for every room.

This product, yes, maybe more expensive than those other nursing pillows... But completely worth it!!! No more having to hunch over or prop up baby with a pillow along with using those other nursing pillows. This pillow bring baby to breast easily. Super comfortable for baby. Also, works wonderful as a side sleeping aid for pregnancy.

 The best nursing pillow around

Best nursing pillow around but admit the price tag is a little steep. Considering the amount of time you spend nursing, this is however NOT the item, you want to compromise or scale down on! The Nesting Pillow is amazing with just the right curved angle making it double as both a nursing pillow and a play pillow. The fabric is breathable so baby doesnt get sweaty after long periods of resting and the cover can be thrown in the machine very easily. The pillow is a little heavy owing to the wheat but that just makes it stay in place.

The best nursing pillow EVER! Doesn't slide around like the boppy pillow I had with our first.  Very supportive -- works perfectly!

I LOVE this pillow. I use it daily when nursing. The buckwheat hulls make for a surprisingly hefty and supportive pillow. It molds how you want it and stays there, so I can position my baby for nursing then have two hands free (actually doing that right now) -- wonderful!! I bought this while pregnant and even used it then for supporting my hands while reading, being on my laptop, etc. This pillow is on the pricey side, but absolutely worth it, in my opinion. I recommend this pillow to my pregnant friends.

 Excellent nursing pillow

Well designed. I love that this pillow has more support than a typical fluff filled pillow. It really helps maintain a comfortable position while nursing and I sometimes use it to prop up my arm while snuggling with my little one. Visiting moms have all commented on how this appears to work better than their standard nursing pillows. The only downside is it's expensive. It does fit well in a standard pillow case so I use one to protect the pillow from the inevitable liquid encounters.

 Best Nursing Pillow Ever!

This is the nest nursing pillow I've come across! I've recommended or gotten for many friends now and they all agree. The buckwheat hulls mean you can shape it perfectly under your baby for nursing, and I LOVE that there are no flame retardants. It was a great pregnancy pillow, and then after the early nursing months it's a great support pillow for a newly sitting baby. I also put it on the edge of the bed when co-sleeping to keep my kid from rolling off. So versatile and useful! A must-have item for new moms.

 Fantastic Feeding Pillow

This pillow is the best thing I have bought since my son's birth. I had been given a Gia pillow but it was too big as I am short waisted and I also tried a My Breast Friend pillow when I was at the hospital but didn't like the back rest. The Nest pillow can be molded to any height or shape so is really easy to tailor to your body and feeding position. The filling is firm so is also great for the baby to snooze on after feeding. The cost is higher than other pillows but worth it. My son loves it.

Didn't work well for me when breast feeding but I am sure I can find other uses. Was too hard and didn't curve around my body as well as I would have liked.

 Excellent pillow with unlimited uses

Such a great pillow with so many uses. I use it for nursing, hubs uses it to read to our baby. I know we will be able to utilize this for years to come. The fact that it is made in the USA of organic, locally grown ingredients doesn't hurt. Thank you, Blessed Nest!

 Worth every penny

Love it. Great for nursing and lounging with baby. Husband steals it for laptop pillow. Functional and high quality. Buckwheat hulls instead of chemical laden foam. Only regret is not buying it sooner. Struggled through the first few months of trying to nurse a newborn without it. Great for ergonomic positioning of mom and baby. Worth every penny.

 Perfect Nursing Pillow

This pillow is fantastic! Easy to shift around to accommodate baby and I love that it is all-natural. All my friends recommended the Boppy or Breast Friend pillows, but I am so happy I got this one! Very happy.

but it's terrific. It contours to your seated position

I was a bit skeptical before purchasing this pillow, but it's terrific. It contours to your seated position, easily elevating baby closer to you. Made of organic materials was my reason to purchase, but I'm pleasantly surprised by how comfy it is. Well done!

Gamechanger and my favorite item from my registry!

I am recommending this to everyone! Every time i use this product which is every day I think... this is such a great product, I'm so glad i have this! This pillow is AMAZING!

I was a first time mom and did a ton of research specifically around best nontoxic baby items. I came across this pillow and it had good reviews and wasn't sure if I'd like it but added it to the registry anyway. I was told to bring my boppy to the hospital and this thing was so helpful to have. It allowed me to easily nurse while forming to my body and my preemie (36wk) and I also was able to use it as a head/body pillow and my husband as a pillow as well. I still use it as a pillow to this day because it's firm and conforming! It really is like a bean bag but the pillow cover is nice and soft and organic.

beats the boppy but has room for improvement

I was hesitant to purchase this pillow because of the cost but my boppy has been through three kids and was in bad shape so I started looking for a more natural alternative and found this. The quality is very, very good. It's made in the us and the workmanship is great, I can see it standing up to years and years of use. My only issue with the construction was the tag, it is a flat square tag sewn on to the top of the pillow, right where the baby's head rests. It only took a minute to get it off with a seam ripper but it would have been nice for it to be in another location.

Using the pillow is comfortable but there is a learning curve to it. I couldn't stand the pillow for the first few weeks but have now gotten the hang of it. At first the filling always seemed to shift away from me, leaving a gap between me and the pillow that couldn't be fixed without stopping nursing and rearranging everything. Now I have to remember to shift the filling towards me to before I start. I'm not sure if my pillow doesn't have enough filling but it seems like it could really benefit from more. I have to take a solid minute to arrange the filling before I start nursing and with all the filling at one end of the pillow the other side is totally flat so there is nowhere to rest my other arm. More filling would make this a five star product.

June 2015 update:

I'm still using this pillow. I bought it to use with our fourth child then I kept using it with our fifth, sixth, and now seventh. It's still in great shape. I don't know how many times I've washed the cover but it's held up incredibly well. I haven't had any problems with the buckwheat deteriorating or getting dusty as was mentioned in another review. It's still a commonly used item in our house both for nursing support as well as a pillow to rest your head on and for knee support when side sleeping. I still wish it had a bit more filling but I've gotten used to it. I'm updating my rating from three to four stars.

Long time user, first time reviewer!

Oh boy, where to even start with this? My first son was born before the blessed nest nesting pillow existed, and I had one of those "boppy" things. I got one at my shower and used it maybe 5 times before coming to despise how sweaty it made my arm and my baby. I also had read about the stuffing in the pillows and the chemicals that might lurk within a chemical material made in China. Other nursing pillows will tell you they are "Made in the USA" but that tell you nothing about their source for materials.

Fast forward to my second son being born 6 years later and the arrival of my Blessed Nest pillow. I actually brought only this pillow and a sweater to the hospital with my, because it was my special "woobie" of comfort throughout my pregnancy and I knew it would be great for a hospital stay. Much better than whatever those things are that the hospital calls a "pillow." It was amazing for getting me comfy in the hospital bed and through delivery, and we used it immediately to prop my son on my lap to nurse after he was born. Our delivery nurse said she had never seen a baby latch so quickly and easily and we felt it was due to the positioning of the nursing pillow, it brings the infants entire body, neck, and mouth in alignment with the breast! Perfect.

My son continued to love this pillow as our nursing extended into his toddlerhood, so when I got pregnant again of course we needed another nesting pillow! I used it through my pregnancy again(prop that thing behind your back to stay on your side as recommended without rolling over in the night) and used both in labor. Just the weight of these pillows is a comfort to a laboring mama, put one behind your back on your side and one between your legs for the supreme deal.

My third son was born and we used his pillow for our three year nursing relationship and now both of my youngest kids have their own organic, comforting, and adorable pillow. We run them through the dry every few

months to make sure they are clean and dust free and wash the covers regularly.

I have had friends say these pillows are expensive, and I can see why they would say that compared to the junky ones. The difference is in the safety of an all natural, organic surface for your infant to lay on and breathe in the dust from and the fact that when your baby is done nursing you don't toss this in the donation bin with the other any stuff. This is going on 8 years we have had our first nesting pillow and it brings my son joy and comfort every night.

 Genius!

Lactation consultants told me that the best feeding pillow was My Breast Friend, but I wanted to be a "green" mom and avoid foam and choose as many organic products for my first baby as I could. This Nesting Pillow was the only one out there I could find, so I happily purchased it directly from the manufacturer.

I have to say, this pillow is soooo much more than just a feeding pillow. I bought this several months before my son was born, and little did I know then that he would have acid reflux and spit up almost constantly, and would also be a "high-needs" baby who wanted to fall asleep breastfeeding and they stay in that position in my arms practically aaaallll day.

Since the nesting pillow has a "Bean Bag" feel, my son's body alignment was relaxed while he slept in my arms, allowing me to relax my arms and back without stressing about his comfort.

Then, because of the bean bag effect, I could manipulate the shape of the pillow into a wedge/inclined pillow so that when I wanted to (try to) set him down to sleep, his acid reflux wouldn't come up and wake him.

I still needed to get him medication for the reflux, but not having to buy another wedge pillow saved money, plus those wedge pillows made of foam were rather stiff, whereas the Nesting Pillow has "give" and will conform more to your baby's body.

When my son outgrew his reflux, we set it aside for a while, and sometimes I'd use it as my own pillow on the sofa.

Then, when he was 5.5 months old and just starting to sit up, I shaped the Nesting Pillow into a "fortune cookie" shape around his lower back to help prop him up while he practiced sitting up. It was so awesome!

Now that he is 6.5 months old and can totally sit up, I found that he loves to just sit on top of it, because he still can get "wobbly" when sitting in his playard or our sofa, but when I sit him on top of the Nesting Pillow, he gets a super secure feel, almost like sitting in the sand on the beach. He went from having a concerned look on his face as he tried to balance while playing with some toys, to giving me a grin and happily focusing on his hands and toys when he was placed on the Nesting Pillow.

Just a warning: although the picture of the pillow shows it as a half-moon shape, in reality the pillow is more floppy than you'd expect, but that it exactly what makes the Nesting Pillow such genius!

When first using it to breastfeed, it took me a little bit of practice grabbing the floppy pillow with one hand and getting it under the baby real quick before he latched on, but that was the only slight challenge.

This is really a wonderful wonderful baby product!!!! It's pure genius!!!!

 Worth it

I love this pillow for nursing. My son is 3 months now and it works great. Very comfortable, he often sleeps on it for 45 min or longer after nursing.

The only negatives- it is heavy. For the most part the weight helps everything stay in place which is great, but my legs will get achy after awhile between the weight of the pillow+kid.

It's not filled 100% and sometimes I wish there was more filling. I find that the cover gets stretched out which allows the pillow to spread out. Washing and drying often combats that pretty well.

In the end I think it's worth it. The fact that every part is organic is great.

 Game changing pillow

Had this pillow since day one of my sons birth at the hospital and it is amazing, helping me support him while breast feeding or bottle feeding, propping him up to chill on the bed or couch without laying him flat helps out a ton, to give my arms a rest and also to keep him from spitting up as much. All around versatile pillow when the baby isn’t in the bassinet it gets a ton of use and keeps the little guy focused during wake windows…

 We love the baby shelf!

My family and I all affectionately refer to this pillow as "the baby shelf," because it provides such excellent support for anyone holding my newborn son. Each time a family member wanted to hold him for the first time I would offer the Baby Shelf. They would initially refuse thinking they didn't need it... But I would insist and wedge the pillow into their lap under my baby, and each time their instant reaction was, "Oh! Wow, that IS nice!"

It is equally excellent for its intended purpose if breastfeeding support. I have used the pillow daily since my son was born a month ago, and it allows me to nurse him hands-free whether sitting or laying. He is very comfortable and frequently falls asleep on the pillow.

The only downsides I have found are that the looped fabric (like how a towel has loops) on the top and bottom surfaces have already gotten some pulls, so I'm assuming this will continue. Purely aesthetic. Also I assume that the buckwheat hulls will eventually crush and settle and lose some of the sturdy malliability that makes it so supportive. As far as I can tell, there is no remedy if this happens.

So bottom line: Is this worth the $94 price tag?

My answer is a strained "yes." On my tight budget where buying this for myself would have meant not being able to pay bills, no I wouldn't have bought it because in the end it really is a comfort item. But as a gift item, I would say in hindsight it should have been a top priority and I am lucky someone chose to gift it to me. So if you are considering this pillow and just can't afford it, I highly recommend talking to friends/family about pitching in together to get it because it is definitely worth having if possible.

Edit:

I'm now using this pillow for my next baby and love it all over again! I also used it at the end of this pregnancy for back support at night. Great item, can be used for multiple babies!

Love it - can't live without it!

This is one of our most essential baby (and toddler, and adult) items. Its uses go far beyond nursing, even though it is the very best nursing pillow you will find. The nesting pillow is an amazing positioning/body pillow during that last, impossibly uncomfortable trimester. I also took mine (we have two) to the hospital, and used them for support and positioning during labor. Pregnancy complications meant I had to be induced overnight, and these pillows are the only reason I was be comfortable enough to rest. I also used them for support during labor, and as a breastfeeding pillow after. Once we came home, I added infant positioning to its list of tasks. The buckwheat hulls shift to create a cozy but supportive nook in which to rest baby's head during the newborn stage, later it helps them hold their head/neck up to look around during tummy time, and provide safe support as they learn to sit up. We nestled it beside our baby to help him feel secure while he slept, and as he started to roll, it prevents him from startling in the night. It travels well for nursing on the go, and I still use our second pillow for myself. The quality is unmatched, and I love knowing my baby isn't constantly being assaulted by the chemicals found in the other popular nursing pillows. Plus, this pillow is comfy, for baby and mom. There are a total of 3 items I recommend to any new mom, and this is #1 on that list. Love it. And once you fall in love with this, you will definitely want the smaller nest eggs, too!

 Best Nursing Pillow

I'm pretty sure that I've tried every nursing pillow on the market. This is by far the best pillow out there. I was initially drawn to this product while searching for an organic nursing pillow for my second child. I learned from nursing my first child that a breast fed baby spends many, many hours on a nursing pillow. With my first child I ended up using "my breast friend" after finding the "bopy" dreadfully uncomfortable. I wasn't comfortable with the foam in the my breast friend pillow (especially since one of my two pillows had a really bad chemical smell - not sure why one did and one didn't, but overall I wasn't that comfortable with the idea of my baby spending so much time on that pillow). When I came across the blessed nest pillow, I was so thrilled to see that the product was organic from the inside out. The shape of it however reminded me of the shape of the bopy pillow that I disliked so much, so I was a little hesitant... Well, I'm so happy that I spent the money to try this pillow out - it is by far the most comfortable nursing pillow out there - it's nothing like the bopy pillow and it's a thousand times more comfortable than My Breast Friend. I rarely take the time to leave a review of a product but I'm so blown away by how this pillow has improved my nursing life that I felt the need to review. Thank you for making this product. Every nursing mother should own this pillow.

I didn't buy this myself; it was gifted to me by my best friend.

 Worth the money!

I have just had my second child and I LOVE THIS NURSING PILLOW! It makes all the difference while breastfeeding and is worth the $94 if you're comfortable spending it. I was definitely skeptical at first considering it's double the price or more than most other nursing pillows, but I'm so happy I took the chance.

Pros:

  • It's made of all natural, organic materials
  • The Paloma cover is super pretty (cream with brown flowers)
  • Half moon shape is actually really nice and wraps around you snugly. It is also wide and long enough for baby to lay straight across it
  • Holds baby in place because of the buckwheat it's filled with so he never rolls or slides around!
  • Nice and thick so I'm not hunched over too much (I'm 5'5) or I just add another pillow underneath and it's perfect
  • Cover is really easy to remove, wash and put back on

Cons:

  • It's heavy, so if you've had a c-section or are just really sore it's pretty hard to lift for the first few days of healing

Other than that 1 little thing, it's awesome!!

Also, I bought mine off mightynest.com and didn't have to pay shipping ?

 we love this pillow but...

This pillow is great now (baby is 4 months old) but really wasnt great for nursing in the beginning, it needs more height to get the baby to the breast without hunching over. Its a much better fit now that my baby is bigger. The Blessed Nest is however always awesome for other normal pillow uses (for you head, back support, between the knees etc). I loved having it for my pregnancy. There are two downfalls to this product that prevent me from giving it five stars. 1. The price- holy expensive for a pillow! I do love that it is organic so I forked over the dough. 2. Its loud. It wakes me up sometimes if I am using it as a head pillow (It is SO comfortable). There are a million reasons to love this pillow and only two reason to dislike it.

it can be completely manipulated to support you and/or baby however you like. In the "laid back" position

As others have said, this is so much more than a nursing pillow. I've used mine for 3+ years straight, first to nurse my first born, then as a sleep aid (more on this later), and now with my second baby.

As a nursing pillow:

You may still want a Brest Friend/boppy to use in conjunction with this; I find there are certain positions when you want more structure (Brest Friend) and others when you want to be able to manipulate the pillow more. The Brest Friend is helpful for the early days when you are learning cradle hold. Otherwise, this pillow takes the cake. Because of the bean bag nature, it can be completely manipulated to support you and/or baby however you like. In the "laid back" position, I love to use it to support my elbows and arms while I hold baby on my front/side. That's just one example of how the maneuverability is so helpful.

As a sleep aid:

If you are a sleeper that need something over your eyes and face, this pillow is totally addictive. In between using it for nursing, I absolutely need it now to cover my eyes while I sleep.

It's also great as a pregnancy support pillow (a la Snoogle, but smaller).

Love that this pillow is totally natural and foam-free. It's versatility and durability makes it absolutely worth the cost.

 Exactly What I Hoped

This nursing pillow is exactly what I hoped it would be. With my first, my nursing pillow was so inadequate I ended up using regular throw pillows most of the time, and that ended up hurting my back quite a bit from all of the slouching. I knew I wanted something more supportive and organic to use with my second, and this pillow is perfect. Extremely supportive and adjustable, soft, and looks nice. It’s also nice to support a local KS business. This is 100% worth the money.

 Love

Wife here. I purchased this in my ninth month and used it to prop up my belly in bed. The contouring worked great for me then and it works so well now for my son. I love that this is basically a bean bag so I can make the side under my son's head bulkier than the end with his feet. The pillow is stable enough to hold him so that I do not have to and comfy enough that I can prop my arm on the pillow and have his head on my arm. It works great on a stable surface so I can lay the baby against the pillow. My husband and I have even used the pillow ourselves on recent road trips.

 The Perfect Nursing Pillow

I can't express enough how much I have loved this nursing pillow. I have owned mine for 32 months. During that time, I have nursed two babies using it, and it has been a HUGE help, especially when both babies were infants. I love that the inner hulls can be manipulated; my babies' bodies are supported just right, each time, no matter how they are positioned. I can sit at any strange angle I wish to, and this pillow makes it possible to nurse baby comfortably. Nursing while lying on my side has become the norm with my youngest, and this pillow is good for that, too! It gives awesome support to my baby's back; keeping her spine perfectly aligned. The facts that this nursing pillow is made with organic buckwheat hulls, organic cotton, and organic removable and washable cover.. is just icing on the cake. I LOVE being able to sanitize the pillow itself with a short time in the dryer. I really couldn't recommend this enough. Their nest "egg" is also amazing.

UPDATE:

We are now going 38 months strong, and still LOVING the Nesting pillow and Nest egg! While I am no longer using it every single day for it's intended use (although I do use it when nursing on the couch sometimes), we are now loving it as a pillow in the living room. :)

Lots of uses, you will not regret buying!

I love this pillow! It's heavy but that can be a very good thing. While pregnant I used it as an extraordinary support pillow when all my other pillows weren't enough. It worked as a natural breastfeeding pillow that I could easily mold to whatever shape/support level I needed at the time. I used it to prop up my son before he could fully sit up, especially if I was trying to avoid spit up! When placed behind my son, it became a fantastic safety tool to insure if he fell backward as he was first learning to sit up unassisted, he would fall against something soft. Once he could stand I used it to keep his small toy table from moving when he put his weight on it. So I used it everyday from 3mo pregnant to when my son was 10mo old. Thanks!

 Very happy!

I ordered directly from the company and chose the color my blue heaven, which I love. After reading all of the other reviews I thought I had a pretty good idea of what to expect and I was hoping it would be worth the money.

It arrived sooner then I thought it would and I was immediately happy. It was obvious that this was not some cheaply made product. It has a nice weight to it and has a useful hidden zipper to remove the cover easily. I did not notice any smell to it and I don't think it is too loud. I rather like the sound it makes.

Some of the reviews made it sound like it's only half filled, so I was surprised when it arrived almost completely filled. Just a nice amount of give to it.

Some people complained that it was not high enough for breastfeeding, but the pillow seems to be a perfect height for me. I guess if you have a long torso it could be short.

Though I am not due for 3 more months I already know this is going to work great. I currently use it as a lap pillow for my iPad. It just feels nice to have on my lap. It also seems like a nice flat surface that will make it easier to hold our baby.

I am very happy with choosing this pillow over the other popular choices. I would buy this again and recommend it to others. If you want an Eco friendly breastfeeding pillow then you'll be very happy with this product.

 It was perfect. The weight

I bought this pillow in 2010 when my first baby was born. He was a preemie and I needed a lot of support while learning to breastfeed. It was perfect. The weight, the materials and shape are perfect for the tiny newborn stage. I also use it as a regular pillow for support when baby is learning to sit up. For me while pregnant and a safe place to put a baby next to while sleeping. The company's customer service is also amazing. Unfortunately mine got wrecked in a laundry mishap and when I emailed the company they sent me a replacement pillow. I always recommend this pillow over the boppy to all my friends! I love this product bc I know it's safe and the best for my babies.

 Much more than nursing pillow

This is such a versatile product, I find new uses for it every day. I originally got it as a nursing pillow but soon found that its just all around great. The baby loves it and we use it to cradle her on the sofa and she adores it !!! She is colicky and the only thing we found that calms her is this wonderful pillow. In addition, the customer service has been a model of what customer service should be. They are the best and score 10's in all categories. I strongly recommend this product either for yourself or for someone you know (it makes a perfect and unique gift).

 worth the high price!

Debated even getting a nursing pillow let alone spend this much on one. So happy I decided on the Nesting Pillow. Since I assumed my little one would spend a lot of time on it, I wanted something organic and not made in China. This pillow fit the bill. I like how it is like a bean bag in that you can mold it how you wish. In addition to nursing/bottle feeding, we use it to keep him slightly upright to avoid spitting up. He seems to like laying on it a lot more than the flat floor. It's great to start with for tummy time. Definitely recommend this product!

Bought mine just to use for the laptop. And then I used it while pregnant to sleep with. Then used it everytime while breastfeeding. Finally used it for tummy time.  Versatile and well-made

The best pillow! It is expensive, but well worth the cost! Wonderful for breastfeeding, useful for propping up baby too. Was a life-saver in helping me to rest and sleep comfortably when pregnant. The buckwheat stays cool, and is easily moldable and comfortably firm. It makes a great prop for yoga, and works very well as a lap desk for my laptop while working from home. Husband uses it while bottle feeding, and it even makes a good car pillow on road trips! Design is pretty, fabric is thick and washes well too.

 Goodbye boppy and breastfriend

I can’t say enough good things about this pillow! Hands down the most comfortable, practical and also cute! It keeps my back straight, no more hunching over and stuffing a bunch of blankets and pillows to get comfortable. It’s got a nice weight to it, well made and easily conforms to your body with baby.  Big breasted ladies musing pillow

I’ve tried a lot of breast pillows in my almost 3 month breastfeeding journey. MyBreastFriend, FridaBaby pillow, the Nest, and of course normal bed pillows. Of the nursing specific pillows, the Nest was my favorite and continues to be used. It’s bean inside allows you to mold it so if you need a little less support by the breast and more on the body then you can accommodate. Since it’s moldable, it also fits if you have a little pouch leftover from pregnancy. You can scoot it right into the spot you need it to keep baby close. Fantastic for football hold and larger breasted ladies. Some of the other pillows didn’t allow me to comfortably recline against the bed backrest or weren’t the right height with my breast. Also no need to worry about back pain because of a strap! It’s quite heavy and stays in place well. Baby didn’t seem like she’d roll off it easily if I wasn’t paying attention. Relatives have also used this to help prop up an arm or my husband has used it as a pillow when he lays on the couch with her. Very nice pillow. Allows for multiple positions.

This works relatively well for babies with reflux as you can may it on your leg if sitting crossed legged to have an angle to feed baby. Other pillows like the myBreastFriend or FridaBaby are strictly shelf pillows and only allow for a flat feed. This made my baby vomit as she has GERD so we needed the flexibility to feed her so her head was higher than her tummy.

 It’s worth it!!

This pillow might seem pricey but it’s 100% worth every penny. I tried others… they scooted away, were too firm for my c section belly, were hard to get on/off, didn’t provide support, made of bad materials, I could go on and on. I finally gave in after using this one at the pediatrician and bought it. I love that it has so many uses (unlike many others, lookin at you MyBrestFriend), doesn’t scoot away, and I don’t have to shove pillows or blankets under it to get the right support. Also it’s made from such quality materials and I’m supporting a small business, just makes me feel better about spending all the dough. But for real, don’t buy two or three pillows to meet your needs. Buy this one and it will meet every need!

 Top recommended product for breastfeeding

Best breastfeeding pillow out there. Worth the expense as the materials are organic, and the product easily conforms to your body and baby for optimal support in any breastfeeding position. This is my number one recommendation for new moms. It is noticeably different than other breastfeeding supports on the market. After bringing my Blessed Nest to the hospital for the first two days after my baby was born, the midwifes, nurses, and doctors all commented and recognized how the Blessed Nest seemed comfortable for both baby and mom no matter what position we were breastfeeding in bed. Now after three months of daily use, I consider my Blessed Best invaluable to our comfort and am pleased by the quality and durability. I appreciate that my baby is spending all of her breastfeeding time on a pillow made of organic and natural materials. I have since purchase a Nest Egg as well for my own neck comfort when nursing in bed or in different chairs around the house or to provide additional height under the Blessed Nest at times.

 Pricey, but worth it!

I am plus size and the standard boppy nursing pillows just did not work for me. I was having tremendous back pain within a week of nursing my little one. This pillow worked great for when little guy was newborn and still works great now that he’s 4 months old. It’s like a beanbag, so that may be a turnoff for some, but it’s perfect for me because I can shape it just how I need it for each nursing session. It was pricey, but totally worth it in my opinion.

Buy this pillow for breastfeeding and beyond!

This pillow is amazing for breastfeeding and baby snuggling! We use it everyday, multiple times a day. We throw the slipcover in on delicate every so often to clean it up. The weight is amazing because it stays where you put it. Easy to redistribute the hulls inside to create an even surface, slightly elevated on one end, etc. Works amazingly for cradle and football holds, and to prop up a snuggling baby (under bum) to keep them skin to skin. It is pricier than other nursing options, but it is 1) high quality 2) has usefulness beyond being a breastfeeding pillow 3) is a small business with thoughtful touches to your order. Buy it! You'll love it!

 Want two thank you notes?

I've purchased this pillow three times. Once for myself, twice as gifts. After trying it out at a friend's house, I immediately bought one for myself. It is, hands down, the greatest tool a new parent can have. Wonderful for feeding (breast or bottle), for men and women, for that late night croup cuddle in front of Friends reruns. This is an amazing gift. Each time I have gifted this, I've received TWO thank you notes. Once for the gift and once because it is SUCH A GREAT PILLOW. And once your sweet bebe grows up, this pillow continues to dutifully provide a wonderful resting place with a sniffly nose, slightly elevating your precious child so that you can shower off those snot sprinkles and get some rest yourself. Do yourself a favor, splurge on this one.

 Best Nursing Pillow Ever

I was gifted a Boppy before baby was born but finally caved and decided to purchase this pillow anyway because of the phenomenal reviews I'd read on some blogs and because of the organic materials, and I'm so thankful I did. This pillow has made learning to breastfeed so much easier for both baby and me and has helped so much during our first week home. The weight of it is amazing for post partum cramping during nursing and it conforms so nicely to both baby and me in any position, whether sitting or lying down. I've tried the Boppy once and aside from the price, can't see why it's the #1 selling nursing pillow. I seriously don't know how people get by without one of these. I was hesitant because of the price, but can totally understand the cost with the organic materials and being made in the USA and honestly the price is insignificant when it comes to success with breastfeeding which is so challenging as it is.

 Hallelujah!

Breastfeeding is hard. It's really, really hard. This pillow is the fifth I have tried, with the others being the Boppy, the Ergobaby, the Infantino elevation one, and My Brest Friend deluxe. I want to be able to say the others would all have their uses, but the problem is that none of them have any uses that this one doesn't work better for.

Yes, it's heavy and a little big. No, it doesn't have any fancy adjustment features or straps. Yes, it's expensive. The thing is, when you have back and shooting nipple pain and a screaming, cluster feeding infant, that's not going to matter. What matters then is a pillow that is soft and comfortable to the touch of a nearly naked newborn, but firm enough to offer the support you really need, wherever that is for the two of you.

I'm pro breastfeeding, and can honestly say I was considering quitting, and staring down the door of a breakdown about that before this pillow arrived. Now we are cheerfully nursing and finding our stride. Breastfeeding is still hard work, but this pillow made it much, much better.

 Lifetime pillow!

Best nursing pillow on the market. Best pillow in general! This is my 4th purchase of the pillow. 2 I purchased for nursing and 2 I purchased for my elderly parents bc it’s such a flexible pillow and can be used in a variety of situations. My mom uses it nightly to prop her iPad for reading and surfing. She says the weight feels good and it’s a stable surface for her work. I bought mine 8 years ago for nursing and I’ve used it every day since for sleeping, propping and working. It’s a lifetime pillow!

 Love this pillow

Love this pillow. Best nursing one I've found yet. It is heavy, which I like, it's much more stable than other pillows. It's big enough that my kiddo can continue to nap on it after nursing.

I have found that the cover snags easily. And I wish there was maybe 15-20% more filling. It's a touch exspensive, but most organic items on the market are. I would certainly skip some smaller baby items (like a wipe warmer) and get this if you're on a tight budget.

I am so happy with this pillow, and feel it will be used for many things and will be worth it's cost. I have not had my baby yet, but have used the pillow to prop my head up better while reading to my kids in bed...and when side-lying, it hugs my belly in just the right spots, while also allowing knee support and arm support in just the right areas so I have been sleeping with it as a maternity pillow. It is such great quality I wish I would have purchased it 3 kids ago. lol

This nursing pillow is awesome! The bean bag design makes it super easy to shape for our comfort. It also maintains its volume, unlike other pillows that are made with batting. I also really like that it’s an organic item. The one drawback is the weight. It’s a heavier item, so maybe not ideal for travel or portability. However, overall, it’s very much worth the price tag. 10/10 Would recommend.

Provides a nice large flat surface for baby while breastfeeding. The filling is quite hefty so the pillow stays in place even when the little one wiggles. The removable cover is machine washable and easy to put back on - I didn't detect any shrinking. I've used it for breastfeeding in the cradle position, cross cradle position and football position. I've also used it as a barrier behind baby's back when in the side-lying position and to help prop baby's body and parent arm during bottle training.

Love that this pillow is moldable for use with a number of different nursing positions! We also use it for propping her upright after feeds since she has some reflux AND great for modified tummy-time!

Works well for me and my baby, however, may not be the best option for those that want a lot of support.

SO much better than the Boppy!

I had the boppy with my first baby and thought I'd just use that again. But then The Nesting Pillow was gifted to me, and it was a game changer! It is 6 pounds, so it is weighted. This provides a more stable support for baby to lay on when nursing. It does not move around like the boppy. It also improves my posture while nursing. Because it is stable, I am able to prop baby up high enough so I can pull my shoulders back taking pressure off of my entire spine. As a chiropractor, I 100% recommend this to my friends, family and patients!

 The BEST nursing pillow

The boppy was horrible for me. I had just had a c-section and I could not adjust the pillow height or get it comfortable. My mom found this nesting nursing pillow and I used it for a full year of breastfeeding my son. It is so versatile and you can adjust the pillow to what you need. This pillow is pricey, but worth it if you are wanting to breastfeed for a significant amount of time. Plus, this pillow was great for tummy time. If I could afford to buy one for every pregnant friend, I would.

 I LOVE this pillow!

I LOVE this pillow! So comfortable, sturdy, well made and versatile. Can be used for so much more than nursing which makes it even more worth the investment. It makes an excellent meditation cushion, an under the leg support while lying on my back, belly support for my growing belly while pregnant, between my knees while sleeping, a yoga prop, etc... It's cute and the fabric is amazing. I love that there are just enough buckwheat hulls to make this solid and the perfect weight and yet not too much so you can still mold it to whatever position you want. I can't imagine anybody not enjoying this product. It's perfect.

 Worth the cost !!

Cannot say enough about this pillow. Affordable no but worth every penny, YES! Like many 2nd time moms I’ve tried many nursing pillows. i tried the boppy and breastfriend either the baby rolls in and pillow slides away or baby is all one level causing more spitting up or reflux. This pillow is so versatile the skinniest to the plus size (me) could use easily. Its also been great for Everyone that has held baby to use to hold him easily and comfortably including siblings. When lactation saw me using this pillow at the hospital they asked where I got it immediately and raved about how easy the positioning was with this pillow and guess what!? the pillow stays where you put it! no matter how much baby wiggles. I do recommend watching the videos on there actual website on the different way you can use this before purchasing bc it taught me a lot. I wish two things that the cover was softer and better quality mine actually started to come apart at the seam where the logo patch is and personally I’ll make a cover before spending so much money on one. If this pillow cover could be softer and have a built in pocket for nipple shield or snack this would be even more amazing ! Now the cost to me was worth it now that I have it but it took me months of researching . I signed up for amazon credit card bc of the perks and that was truly the only way I could afford it most people won’t purchase for shower bc of cost . Possibly making a second more affordable option would increase the amount of lives and homes you could change. But thank you for making a product that really has helped me to nurse longer and easier then anything else out there.

Versatile and great for nursing with a long torso. Beats boppy hands down and worth price!

For my first baby, I used the boppy and found myself making pillow forts and building structure to adequately position it constantly. This pillow is amazing because it’s firm and the buckwheat is versatile so you can shift it in the pillow to raise or lower one end. I have a long torso and found myself hunching over the hoppy but this pillow helps avoid the hunch. Because it’s so versatile, I imagine it would work equally well for someone with a shorter torso. Last, this pillow offers some comfort that My baby is spending many hours a day during her newborn months with her head on a surface that won’t cause any adverse health effects.

 So cozy for breastfeeding!

I first heard about this pillow from a review on Baby Gear Lab and am so glad I put it on my registry! I have absolutely loved this for breastfeeding. It functions like a beanbag, which allows it to provide cozy support in all the right places under baby's body. Yes, it is expensive -- but if you are planning to breastfeed, you seriously might be using this thing 8+ hours a day in those first few weeks and it will continue to get heavy use beyond that as well. I even used it to sleep with every night during my third trimester of pregnancy when I was so uncomfortable (while laying on my side either between my knees or behind my back). Tip: I find it works best for me when used in combination with one lumbar pillow under the elbow of whichever side baby is nursing (to elevate it slightly). When I do this, I can get baby in a position where I can often nurse hands free. The only reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because I wish it had a waterproof cover to protect the pillow better. The directions say to spot treat it and sterilize by putting in the dryer when it gets dirty. Still feels a little gross to me and despite my best efforts there are visible stains on the pillow (can't be seen unless you remove the slip cover). When my son was going through a bought of diarrhea early on we bought some puppy pee pads and covered the pillow in those whenever I fed him. Over all though, this is an awesome pillow and worth the money. I will definitely be recommending it to my friends!

 Great pillow worth every penny

I absolutely love this nursing pillow. It's pretty pricey, given but I use it constantly, every day so it's worth every penny. I have used it for eight weeks now and it's the only one I use. My baby loves to lay on it, it's super easy to shape it so that it fits different positions and the overall shape works great for me. It is on the heavy side, though due to the natural filling but that doesn't bother me personally and even leads to it feeling much more stable to me.

I also use it in bed to support my back when laying on the side for nursing and it is super stable and comfy.

Only downside is that due to its generous size and the weight it's not practical for taking it along somewhere. No way to fit that in a bag.

Cleaning the cover is simple, just toss it in the washer. Not being able to wash the inner part makes it a little bit tricky if something stains it. I solve the problem by putting an additional watertight pad under my baby when nursing.

For at home this is the only nursing pillow I use and I would recommend it to everyone.

Great fabric, feels like a beanbag, multi-use, and best for a bigger baby

This pillow feels like a tiny beanbag - and is very malleable which is a positive and can also be a drawback. The fabric is soft and nice however and it feels nice and heavy. Its a good looking product and I got many complements and questions about this at the hospital. This being a malleable pillow - I found has become a better quality as my baby grows. At first the fact that this pillow shifted shape was not so good for my tiny baby (at 6 lbs). Now I really enjoy using this pillow now when Im in a laidback position in my glider and now that she is bigger (8lbs) and fills the distance between the billow and the breast. I have this and the my brest friend - and both are great for different feeding spots around the house and for different styles. The unique thing about this pillow is that its actually comfy enough to be treated as such - a pillow and my babe likes falling asleep on it - and i use it to prop up my lower back sometimes when reading. Good, quality buy for a long term investment & multiple uses.

I've been using this for over 5 months now and I really like it - it's sort of like a nursing bean bag so you can adjust it to fit you and the baby the way you want to. For example I adjust the beans to the side I'll nurse on so that the baby is slanted a bit up, or adjusting it to fit inside the arms of the glider in the baby's room so that it's comfy for baby. I appreciate that it's a flatish top so that the baby is never rolling away from me. I use a receiving blanket over the top that I change out so that I don't need an extra cover. The quality is quite good - no signs of wear on this much-used item. It was pricier than some other options but I have no regrets - this is a great nursing pillow that covers all of my needs perfectly so it's money well spent given the amount of time I spend with it!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned how heavy this thing is. I love the materials and it's comfy and great for nursing but man it weighs a ton. It always falls off the chair and onto the floor whenever I stand up. It's very cumbersome. And almost impossible to use in the hospital and with a newborn. I had to get a Brest friend for the first month. Now that she's older it works better but it still aggravates me.

I know, I know. This is pricy for a nursing pillow, but in my opinion it is worth it. I used a Boppy with my first child, but by the time our second arrive it was getting a bit flat. I bought a new Boppy, but it wasn't quite cutting it. My daughter is much longer than our son and she was leaning a bit too much off the side. Enter the Nesting Pillow. It is beautifully constructed and I love the flexibility of being able to move the stuffing around inside (buckwheat I think) to get just the right position for the baby. I was concerned at first that the buckwheat would make noise, it does, but I have never had it disturb the baby... must be something about the naturalness of the sound. This has also helped the back pain I was having when nursing. Something about the way I can get the nursing position exactly the way I need it.

My sister asked for this as a hand-me-down, but I am going to keep it when I am done and move it to the TV room. It is so pretty I want to make sure I give it some more use.

Great body support and easy to use for breastfeeding

I’ve been using this with my newborn for a week and I love it! It’s FAR better than my Boppy from years ago with my first baby. As a physical therapist, supporting your body is critical to its working well and staying healthy and thus works beautifully, being able to be manipulated to increase support under your nursing side as needed and to support a resting baby. The organic cotton is an important feature as breadt fed babies often spend a large percentage of their time at the breast and with their face up against ideally skin and a clean, healthy material. I’ve washed the outer cover and it’s easy to take on and off and air dry. Great product ladies who dreamed this up and thank you!

My most valuable use of the nest egg however has been when traveling particularly on an airplane. It makes a flight so much more comfortable especially when your baby falls asleep in your lap.  Pricy but good quality & functionality

I got this nursing pillow since I liked the idea of one that was more of a bean-bag type filling to be able to mold around multiple nursing positions, and also could be used for tummy time. I've used this as my primary nursing pillow and I do really like how versatile it is in terms of moving the 'beans' to one side or another to provide more support.

I do like that it is eco-friendly, although the pillow came with a note that was so crunchy I almost chipped a tooth on it. (Thanking me for my purchase; explaining that they only use biodegradable packaging; and that if you try to return it, they won't give you a refund but will donate the pillow to be re-used if possible. All admirable things but came off a bit self-congratulatory.)

I have not yet tried washing the cover, but probably will soon since it is already accumulating small stains from breast milk, leaky diapers, or dropped snacks from trying to eat & breastfeed at the same time. I do wish there were other color options, since the off-white material does show stains easily, but I assume any dyes would make it less eco-friendly.

It was a bit pricy, but seems to be really good quality and despite my snark, I am willing to pay a little more for a product that is better for the world than mass produced ones. Overall, I'm pleased with it and think it is a very nice option compared to a lot of the other nursing pillows, with hopefully a bit more versatility and longevity as well.

LOVED it...and then not so much…

I bought this at around 20 weeks pregnant- friends told me they used their nursing pillows during pregnancy as sleep support...I knew I wanted organic, and the Nesting Pillow was one of very few organic options out there, so I gave it a shot. At 32 weeks pregnant now, I cannot live without this pillow to sleep with at night. I literally take it with me from side to side as I roll over during the night, it comes with me to the couch for TV time, and is just an all-around awesome body support. Ironically, I can't yet speak to its capabilities as a nursing pillow, but I anticipate loving it just as much then as I do now.

The only issue that I had was with shipping- it took quite some time to reach me, as the company is small, though they did offer a free product to make up for it taking an extra couple of weeks, which I appreciated (that product, too, took a very long time to reach me, however!)

UPDATE: I've had the pillow for 7 months now and it is beginning to degrade- the buckwheat hulls used to make it are getting crushed by normal use and creating dust that escapes from the pillow. It's VERY messy and not safe to use with my newborn anymore. I've contacted the company, only to receive no response. At almost $90, I'm incredibly disappointed. What a waste! This item does NOT hold up to normal use and is not a good investment. Very unhappy with the company and its product.

I wanted to take a moment and recommend this product after receiving excellent and speedy customer support. Amazon failed to help, but the maker stepped in and helped. Quickly sending us a pillow when the first one didn't arrive, thanks UPS.

I really appreciate companies that operate with the customer-first approach, and make great products. I am glad to support them and couldn't recommend them more.

Too heavy and floppy - hard to manage while holding a newborn.

I was a scheduled c-section, so I was on the hunt for a pillow that didn't have to fasten around my waist. I was thrilled when I found this pillow since the reviews were so great. However, I couldn't believe how heavy it was when it arrived. During recovering I'm advised to not lift more than 10 lbs, and since the pillow is 6 lbs on its own (that's right, six pounds!), I can't carry both the pillow and the baby at the same time. I also found it extremely difficult, especially at night, to hold my newborn and grab/position the pillow. It doesn't have any structure. It was clear right away this wasn't a good option for me. I went to return it and realized I can't since I tried it out. I wanted to love this, given that it's non toxic and seems like a great company, but ultimately I'm disappointed I wasted $100.

 Yes! A must!

This product, yes, maybe more expensive than those other nursing pillows... But completely worth it!!! No more having to hunch over or prop up baby with a pillow along with using those other nursing pillows. This pillow bring baby to breast easily. Super comfortable for baby. Baby seems much more at ease with this product.

Also, works wonderful as a side sleeping aid for pregnancy.

Can't say enough about this product.

BEST NURSING PILLOW! better than the boppy!!

The best nursing pillow EVER! Doesn't slide around like the boppy pillow I had with our first. Very adjustable because you can shake the buckwheat hulls over to one side and perfect for letting older children (toddlers) hold baby with adult supervision. I can't recommend it enough!! Also makes the perfect couch nap pillow for mama ?

Much better than the boppy pillow! It is flexible so you can easily position it however necessarily for optimal support and comfort. Several people, including my lactation consultant, commented how great this pillow is. I’ve recommended this to several new moms. A must have for breastfeeding!

 Use this everyday all day!

One of my favorite baby items we have. Love it. Great for support while holding baby after c-section and, of course, while feeding both bottles and with nursing. This was one of my splurge baby items and I’m very happy with it.

 Yes!

Love the fact that this pillow is 100% plant-based and organic! It’s definitely on the heavier side, and has a beanbag type of feel. My seven week old baby loves it! A little on the spending side, I would definitely recommend

 Not as expected

I was really excited about this. Unfortunately I did not know it would be 6 lbs. way too heavy! It also doesn’t prop baby up high enough and you have to use additional support. Even my lactation consultant was oppose to this option. :(

 Worth the cost!

This is a great product as it is malleable, so baby can be adjusted by moving the pillow. I found the lack of a waistband to be a good thing, giving me and baby much more flexibility. I use this daily and the quality is top notch.

 Already falling apart

I've been using this nursing pillow for about four months. I like that it's like a bean bag because it allows you the option for customized support. And I of course like that this pillow is toxin free. However, the cover is already falling apart. Like I said, I've only been using the pillow for four months, I've only washed the cover 3 times (on gentle cycle) and it's ripping at the seams where the logo was stitched on. I expected better quality considering how expensive this product is.

 Dusty and Smells Like Mold

It smells awful and made me sneeze like 10 times when I opened it. This is my second pillow from Blessed Nest and I will be sending it back. The quality of the buckwheat hulls has gone way down since my first and the cover looks awful. The seam on the stretchy fabric has holes and bunches. Not happy. And it took forever!

beats the boppy but has room for improvement

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, Just Needs to be Easier to Refill

At first I was like $100 for a breastfeeding pillow? But this is probably one of the 5 items I’ve used the most postpartum. Super comfy and useful for breast and bottle feeding, propping up my baby, even the occasional cat nap. It’s well made and well worth the cost given how much we use it.

My only complaint is that the pillow itself doesn’t have a zipper to allow you to easily add more buckwheat filler. Ours started to go flat from use after about 3 months, so now I’m thinking about adding a zipper so I can add buckwheat more easily. I don’t mind having to do that (just the nature of having a buckwheat pillow) but I wish the company mentioned it and made refilling/maintaining the pillow easier.

Other than that I highly recommend splurging on this pillow. You won’t regret it.

 Best Nursing Pillow Ever!!!

The Blessed Nest is the best nursing pillow available!! Besides being a very supportive pillow that I can move and mold to support both my baby and me, I have used it as a pregnancy pillow, and for my older kids to help them hold their newborn sister. Buy This Pillow!!! You will not be sorry. It is the one piece of baby gear that I refuse to get rid of!!

There is no comparison to other pillows

Bought mine just to use for the laptop. And then I used it while pregnant to sleep with. Then used it everytime while breastfeeding. Finally used it for tummy time. It is the best and I recommend to all my preggo friends. Buy it for early baby shower gifts to use while pregnant. Nothing compares to this very versatile pillow.

I’m thinking of buying a second! If you’re wondering if it’s worth the money, it 100% is!

I have used 5 different nursing pillows and this is the best one ever. Super sturdy and comfortable. Only downside is cleaning it stinks. But i can get over it because of how great it is. I know it’s a pricier option but so worth the money. This is my second child and didn’t even question ordering another

 Worth it!

In addition to being chemical free and organic, this nursing pillow is just hands down amazing. I've used it several times daily to nurse since it has arrived, I also use it to support my son as he learns to sit up on his own, and most recently, I took it with me for his first airline flight. I purchased this Blessed Nest nursing pillow almost 3 years ago, and I still use it every day. I have a formaldehyde allergy and this is the only nursing pillow I could find that didn't make my body erupt in a rash. I'm grateful for it daily! I love it so much that I went back and purchased the matching nest egg pillow for my son's first toddler/crib pillow. He's thrilled with it, and I love knowing that he's snoozing on a chemical-free pillow. I've also had the pleasure of interacting with Blessed Nest's staff on multiple occasions, and I've been impressed with their caring, personal, prompt customer service.  We love the nest egg in our house

Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2014

We love the nest egg in our house! My son uses his as a pillow nightly. I appreciate that it is easy to clean. My most valuable use of the nest egg however has been when traveling particularly on an airplane. It makes a flight so much more comfortable especially when your baby falls asleep in your lap. The nest egg just gives you that added leverage so your arms don't have to hold them up. I will never travel with a baby without it! Love it!

Heard about the Nest Egg from a friend and I have loved it!!! It is worth every penny; when my baby girl is fussy it really seems to soothe her and I keep it by my side every where (at night in bed, in her car seat, and it's even great while nursing) I highly recommend the nest egg for mommy and baby!!!

I LOVE Blessed Nest products. I really like the travel pillow, more for myself than for nursing to be honest. But I can't recommend their full size nursing pillow enough. It is heavy, but it is like memory foam for babies. My son loved to nurse and sleep on it.

This pillow is just the right size for a car trip, or just a little support under a shoulder, knee, hip, or the prop under an elbow or wrist. It’s also lovely to snuggle up with and hug around. So very well made and customizable to the amount and shape of support you need. I don’t know how I lived without it !

I know it seems outrageous to spend this kind of money, but I’m telling you this is worth it! I am nursing my 4th child and can tell you this it! Boppy is the worst! Here is some of what I love most:

Baby seems much more at ease with this product.

Also, works wonderful as a side sleeping aid for pregnancy.

Much better than the boppy pillow! It is flexible so you can easily position it however necessarily for optimal support and comfort. Several people, including my lactation consultant, commented how great this pillow is. I’ve recommended this to several new moms. A must have for breastfeeding!

One of my favorite baby items we have. Love it. Great for support while holding baby after c-section and, of course, while feeding both bottles and with nursing. This was one of my splurge baby items and I’m very happy with it.

 Worth the cost!

This is a great product as it is malleable, so baby can be adjusted by moving the pillow. I found the lack of a waistband to be a good thing, giving me and baby much more flexibility. I use this daily and the quality is top notch.

I’m thinking of buying a second! If you’re wondering if it’s worth the money, it 100% is!

 Best Nursing Pillow Ever

I have used 5 different nursing pillows and this is the best one ever. Super sturdy and comfortable. Only downside is cleaning it stinks. But i can get over it because of how great it is. I know it’s a pricier option but so worth the money. This is my second child and didn’t even question ordering another

Love that this is the "3rd hand" that I needed when breastfeeding. It's comfortable, squishable, and sturdy enough to keep it shape. Love it, and worth every penny.

The best non toxic nursing pillow ! It’s an amazing quality, versatile and supportive. I live with my nursing pillow while nursing. Currently nursing my second child right now who is days old and I'm already completely in love with this pillow. Worth every single penny and (as a doula) will recommend to everyone in the future!

 I love this thing!

It is such great quality I wish I would have purchased it 3 kids ago. lol

 Worth it!

 Worth it

Provides a nice large flat surface for baby while breastfeeding. The filling is quite hefty so the pillow stays in place even when the little one wiggles. The removable cover is machine washable and easy to put back on - I didn't detect any shrinking. I've used it for breastfeeding in the cradle position, cross cradle position and football position. I've also used it as a barrier behind baby's back when in the side-lying position and to help prop baby's body and parent arm during bottle training.

 Love, love, love!

This pillow is amazing! Its a wonderful size, weight and is so comfortable to use! The organic filling contours to your body and the organic cover is durable, easily machine washable and very pretty! My older son loves using the pillow too so he can safely hold his newborn sister. Ive tried other pillows but this one is so much better. I will be using it for many years to come! Highly recommend this pillow!

Good. Washable cover. Like the feeling.

I like the texture and the cover feels natural. Pillow is on the heavy side of you don’t mind it. I actually prefer this as it stays put on my legs. I haven’t tried it yet with baby but so far I really appreciate it.

Plus : cover is washable in machine

 Great for Multi-Use

Love that this pillow is moldable for use with a number of different nursing positions! We also use it for propping her upright after feeds since she has some reflux AND great for modified tummy-time!

Works well for me and my baby, however, may not be the best option for those that want a lot of support.

 So worth it!

I was given a boppy before my baby was born. Once she arrived and I started using it, I found it to be difficult and cumbersome. A friend told me about this pillow and I decided to try it out. It is amazing! It reminds me of a bean bag chair because the thickness can be adjusted. I highly recommend it

Very impressed, the hype is real

This pillow is so supportive! I love how it conforms however you want it to, and doesn’t shift around once settled. Currently using it as a belly support during pregnancy and I’m so excited to use this as a nursing pillow.

 Great!

This feeding pillow is well made, big, organic and fabulous. I used it to side sleep while pregnant and it was THE ONLY reason I got any sleep in the midst of all my tossing and turning. I really like this product. Highly recommend it. I will say, it took them quite a while to ship, but once I got it - I couldn't be happier. The fill makes it mold to you + babies body perfectly, holding them in place.

 WORTH IT!!

Wow, just amazing … every bit worth the money- which I think is priced reasonably unlike some of the more promoted companies we all see. The quality far exceeds my expectations and it’s much bigger in person than I thought! Just amazing, thank you for making quality products that are not overpriced. Did I mention it’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL, ugh so happy.
